Introduction
The Electrical Supervisor is responsible for coordinating and performing electrical, refrigeration maintenance as well as projects in area of responsibility.
Job description
- Be hands-on and execute electrical and refrigeration work
- Plan, coordinate & delegate electrical & refrigeration maintenance activities
- Perform quality assessment and control of maintenance tasks
- Provide a technical support function to subordinates
- Provide regular work progress feedback to the Operations & Maintenance Superintendent and relevant Stakeholders
- Conduct statutory inspections and ensure certifications are valid
- Effective spares management
- Ensure completion of daily work-orders for all tasks planned
- Investigate failures and provide preventative maintenance recommendations
- Ensure compliance to preventative maintenance programs
- Ensure personal and subordinate tools is available and in good condition
- Ensure compliance to all B2Gold Safety, Health and Environmental policies and procedures
- Actively participate in the implementation and improvement of occupational Health, Safety and Environment (OHSE) Management System.
Minimum requirements
- Recognized Electrical Trade Diploma/Certificate
- Minimum N3 certificate, with 4 technical subjects inclusive Electrical Theory
- 7 years relevant working experience post trade test qualification
- Maintenance Supervisory experience
- Experience with maintenance planning systems (Pragma, SAP)
- Proven experience with MV authorization and operation (11kV to 33kV)
- Experience in electricity generation plants and distribution systems
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
- Good technical reporting skills
- Willing to work long hours and weekends as per operational requirements
