Introduction
To provide general support.
General Workers are required in the following departments:
- 4 x Metallurgy
- 3 x Environment
Job description
- Keep work area clean, neat, and orderly
- Clean material spillage under conveyors and tunnels
- Remove weeds on the premises
- Assist operations with relevant shut jobs or duties as directed by supervisorÂ
- Assist with the clean-up and proper disposal of hazardous material/waste
- Assist with separation of recyclable waste and storage of other wastes at the landfill
- Assist with the incineration of waste and associated activities
- Assist with any other waste management tasks on-site
- Assist with all bioremediation activities as instructed by the supervisor
- Perform gardening and landscaping duties i.e. weeding, digging, forking, watering, mulching, raking, edging, pruning, bed preparation and planting
- Assists with watering of plants and lawns as required
- Cleaning of offices and ablution areas as instructed by the supervisor
- Assist with preparation of areas completed for rehabilitation
- Collects seeds and relocate seedlings to rehabilitated areas
- Repair and maintains rehabilitated areas
- Ensure compliance to all B2Gold Safety, Health and Environmental policies and procedures
Minimum requirements
- Minimum Grade 10 (NQF Level 3)
- Experience in a mining environment will be an advantage
- Valid Code B driver’s license will be an advantage
- Preference will be given to permanent residents of Otavi and Otjiwarongo
