Introduction
This position assists the Employee Wellness Officer to promote, coordinate, administer and implement all activities relating to the management of wellness HIV/AIDS, Employee Assistant Services (EAS), and employee health in accordance with the B2Gold Wellness program.
Job description

Coordinate, implement and monitor the wellness program
 
  • Assist with coordinating of the wellness activities and resources
  • Assist with liaising of relevant stakeholders on wellness issues
  • Assist with developing and implementing monthly health communications and activities
  • Assist with developing annual wellness implementation plan
  • Assist with monitoring and evaluating the program on a continuous basis and submit proposals to the Employee Wellness Officer
  • Assist with conducting of surveys related to wellness matters
  • Maintain record keeping of all health screenings, medical clearance forms and attendance sheets
 
Provide counselling
  • Assist with referrals of employees with specific issues to external service providers
  • Assist with coordinating HIV voluntary counselling and testing and provide HIV AIDS treatment, support and referrals

Ensure wellness awareness and education
  • Assist with conducting of presentations on wellness programs and topics to create awareness and educate employees on health and wellness matters
  • Encourages participation in Health Assessments and facilitate access to resources to achieve a healthy lifestyle
  • Assist to perform peer educator training to volunteer employees
  • Attend quarterly Wellness Coordination meetings and other training events
  • Assist to motivate others to live a healthy lifestyle

  • Ensure compliance to all B2Gold Safety, Health and Environmental policies and procedures

Minimum requirements

  • Grade 12
  • Minimum B Degree in Social Sciences or Social Work or Human Sciences (NQF Level 7)
  • Minimum 1-year Counselling or Health Education experience
  • Valid code B driver’s licence
  • Valid Professional Registration will be an advantage
