The receptionist is responsible for providing professional receptionist and front desk support duties to internal and external clients.
Job description

Receptionist
  • Act as the first point of contact for internal and external clients.
  • Greet all visitors in a friendly and diplomatic manner and attend to their inquiries.
  • Serve visitors with refreshments if required.
  • Answer and transfer incoming calls in a fast and friendly manner.
  • Take accurate messages and promptly forward them to the intended recipient.
  • Accept responsibility for unlocking and locking reception doors each day at 07h30 and 16h30, respectively.
  • Keep the reception area clean and orderly.
  • Monitor entrance doors and report any defects to the supervisor immediately.
Design & communication 
  • Help draft and distribute internal communications, emails, and announcements.
  • Assist in creating content that engages and informs employees about company news, events, and updates.
  • Maintain and update B2Connect with relevant and timely information.
  • Assist in writing, editing, and posting articles and other content to keep the workforce informed and connected.
Administration & Travel Coordination 
  • Assist the Office Coordinator with general administration duties and filing.
  • Receive and sort daily mail.
  • Assist the Office Coordinator in completing the internal manifest document of outgoing parcels.
  • Assist with the monthly fleet recon.
  • Assist with travel-related support and administration.
  • Stand-in for the Travel section as and when required.
Safety, Health and Environment 
  • Ensure compliance with all B2Gold Safety, Health and Environmental policies and procedures.
  • Comply with the Namibian Mining Act (Labour Act, Ordinance, Minerals Act, and Explosives Act) and Regulations clauses applicable to your work area.
  • Actively participate in the implementation and improvement of Occupational Health, Safety and Environment (OHSE) Management System.

Minimum requirements

  • Minimum Grade 12
  • NQF 4
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in an Administrative/Reception support office environment
