Introduction
The Buyer is responsible for the procurement of goods and services at Otjikoto Mine.
Job description
Duties and Responsibilities
- Adhere to all policies, rules, and procedures governing the division.
- Review and prioritise Purchase Requisitions.
- Prepare and process Requests for Quotations (RFQs).
- Communicate with end users and suppliers regarding the status of orders.
- Drive continuous improvement and cost-saving initiatives.
- Expedite overdue orders and provide regular feedback to end users.
- Liaise with relevant departments regarding order requests and order status updates.
- Report on the status of orders to supervisors and end users.
- Ensure all orders are received and receipted accurately in the system.
- Source new vendors for goods and services and maintain accurate supplier information and records.
- Ensure the timely and safe collection and delivery of goods.
Safety, Health and Environment
- Comply with the B2Gold Golden Rules, Code of Conduct and all Policies.
- Ensure compliance with all B2Gold Safety, Health and Environmental policies and procedures.
- Actively participate in safety and/or toolbox meetings and conduct a monthly safety inspection of the work area based on the schedule set by Management.
- Maintain a safe working environment, and keep the assigned work area clean and tidy.
- Report all unsafe acts and conditions as well as injuries, accidents, equipment damage and near-miss incidents to the supervisor timeously.
Minimum requirements
- Minimum Grade 12 (NQF Level 4)
- Certificate in Procurement
- Minimum three (3) years’ experience in a Supply Chain Environment
