Introduction
The Management Reporting Specialist is accountable for overseeing and coordinating the provision of management and financial reporting services and support to various business areas, in accordance with prescribed statutory and business standards and requirements.
Job description

Duties & Responsibilities 

  • Ensure adherence to management accounting standards, IFRS, internal controls and corporate governance requirements.
  • Lead and enhance management accounting, cost reporting and financial systems and processes.
  • Oversee CAPEX forecasting, cash flow monitoring and expenditure tracking, including budget control and variance analysis.
  • Analyse financial and cost data, identify risks and opportunities, and provide strategic insights and recommendations to management.
  • Provide financial input into feasibility studies, Life of Mine (LoM) planning, Asset Retirement Obligations (ARO) and annual budgeting processes.
  • Review and assess contracts for financial and IFRS compliance, and provide technical accounting guidance where required.
  • Manage financial reporting and cost control for site, corporate, properties and exploration functions.
  • Ensure alignment between budgets, LoM and ARO in line with corporate and IFRS reporting requirements.
  • Build and maintain strong stakeholder relationships, providing financial guidance to both finance and non-finance teams.
  • Ensure compliance with SOX controls, governance frameworks and internal audit requirements, including participation in audits and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Monitor engineering and operational cost performance, including equipment lifecycle, utilisation and cost efficiency.
  • Strengthen internal controls and risk management processes, identifying financial risks early and supporting cost optimisation initiatives.

 Safety, Health and Environment

  • Comply with the B2Gold Golden Rules, Code of Conduct and all Policies.
  • Ensure compliance with all B2Gold Safety, Health and Environmental policies and procedures.
  • Actively participate in safety and/or toolbox meetings and conduct a monthly safety inspection of the work area based on the schedule set by Management.
  • Maintain a safe working environment and keep the assigned work area clean and tidy.
  • Report all unsafe acts and conditions as well as injuries, accidents, equipment damage and near-miss incidents to the supervisor timeously.

Minimum requirements

  • Chartered Accountant (CA) Namibia or South Africa (NQF Level 8)
  • Minimum of 6 years post-qualification experience, with at least 4 years in a senior financial reporting or management accounting role, preferably within a mining, heavy industrial or related environment.
  • Proven specialist accounting knowledge and experience in management accounting and IFRS reporting, preferably in the mining sector.
  • Valid Code B Driver’s License.
