Introduction
The Electrician Graduate will undergo structured training across the various sections within B2Gold Otjikoto Mine’s Electrical Maintenance services to acquire and develop the skills required to become a competent Electrician.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Assist the Electrical Supervisor in carrying out planned and breakdown electrical maintenance activities across the mine.
  • Apply and adhere to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Job Safety Analyses (JSAs), Lock-Out/Tag-Out (LOTO) procedures, and OEM manuals during all maintenance activities.
  • Read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and technical manuals during fault diagnosis and maintenance work.
  • Comply with all maintenance procedures, engineering standards, statutory requirements and company policies.
  • Assist the electrical supervisor in conducting statutory tests, inspections and preventative maintenance activities.
  • Safely operate and maintain electrical test instruments, diagnostic tools, and specialised equipment.
  • Demonstrate willingness to learn, accountability and a proactive work ethic.
  • Willingness to work shifts, overtime, and after-hours as required by operational demands
Safety, Health and Environment
  • Comply with the B2Gold Golden Rules, Code of Conduct and all Policies.
  • Ensure compliance with all B2Gold Safety, Health and Environmental policies and procedures.
  • Actively participate in safety and/or toolbox meetings and conduct a monthly safety inspection of the work area based on the schedule set by Management.
  • Maintain a safe working environment and keep the assigned work area clean and tidy.
  • Report all unsafe acts and conditions as well as injuries, accidents, equipement damage and near-miss incidents to the superviosr timeosly.

Minimum requirements

  • Minimum Grade 12 (NQF Level 4) or N3 with four relevant technical subjects & a Trade Diploma – Electrician (NQF Level 6), not older than 18 months from date of qualification.
  • No previous work experience is required.
  • A Valid Code B driver’s license.
