Introduction
The Graduate Mechanical Engineer will undergo structured training to develop into a competent engineer while supporting multidisciplinary engineering projects through the preparation of conceptual layouts, general arrangements, as-built and detailed technical drawings in accordance with ISO standards and client specifications, and by assisting with project coordination.

Duties and Responsibilities 
 
  • Assist with project or work status reports by collecting, analysing, and summarising status and recommending actions.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of the document control process and follows protocol.
  • Archiving of engineering documents and drawings as may be required.
  • Create detailed CAD or SolidWorks drawings for fabrication or on-site work
  • Carry out site measuring and engagement with the survey team to ensure correct plotting and drawing coordination for site works.
  • Maintain and continuously update all existing infrastructure as-built drawings and ensure that current revisions are readily available in DXF format for operational and engineering use.
  • Conduct detailed capture and documentation of internal infrastructure layouts, including mechanical, electrical, piping, and structural arrangements, to support the development and implementation of digital twin models for site infrastructure and facilities.
  • Perform Field Engineering work as assigned by Supervisor.
  • Examine, review and suggest improvements or amendments to existing mechanical procedures.
  • Work with different artisans to obtain hands-on experience in the maintenance of mobile equipment, plant equipment and site services equipment.
  • Show competency in the review of existing maintenance schedules and propose changes or improvements where required.
  • Complete design and SolidWorks drawings as may be required.
  • Prepares and maintains updated system procedures and documentation.
Health, Safety and Environment
  • Ensure compliance with all B2Gold Safety, Health and Environmental policies and procedures.
  • Comply with the Namibian Mining Act (Labour Act, Ordinance, Minerals Act, and Explosives Act) and Regulation clauses applicable to the work area.
  • Actively participate in safety and/or toolbox meetings and conduct a monthly safety meeting. Inspection of the work area based on the schedule set by Management.

Minimum requirements

  • Grade 12 (NQF Level 4)
  • B.Eng., B.Sc. or BTech in Mechanical Engineering (NQF level 7).
  • Experience in project execution / involvement will be an advantage.
  • Minimum of 2 years drawing experiences.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and Solid Works, or similar design tools.
  • Experience in general arrangement, parts, orthographic, isometric, sectioning and 3-D Drawing with parts and material listing and detailing.
  • A Valid Code B driver’s license.
